It features several important upgrades to the previous Worx push mower (Model WG751) that did very well in last year’s tests, cutting 4,830 square feet of grass on a charge. It’s a steel deck mower with a 20-inch cut, rear wheel drive, and it’s rated to handle 10,500 square feet of grass on a charge (again, we’ll look to verify that in coming weeks). Its three functions are mulch, bag, and side discharge. To switch between mulching and bagging, just move a lever to raise or lower the mulch plug. The mower also features Torque on Demand that automatically increases current to the motor to maintain cutting capability when the mower encounters tall grass. We’ve noticed that feature on other advanced cordless mowers and have come to see it as a necessity. For those who’d prefer to cut the lawn without breaking the bank, the WORX WG779 40V Lawn Mower might be the answer. This model has many of the features of more expensive models, such as a one-lever, three-position height adjustment, a choice between bagging and mulching, and enough runtime for smaller yards.

This 14-inch model from WORX offers a total cutting capacity of 13 inches. Using two 20- volt 4Ah batteries, it brings a total of 40 volts of power to the lawn.
